It’s dangerous outside. Nina, Jessica and Jack find temporary sanctuary in an abandoned house. However their presumed safety is short lived as the rules appear to have changed.
This five minute short film is an inventive twist on the Little Red Riding Hood fable. Set in the UK after a major catastrophe it adds elements of psychological horror and gritty realism to a well known tale.
The Bzou have devastated the population of the UK, and is still actively stalking anyone who is found outdoors. The story opens with Nina, Jessica and Jack running to find a new safe haven. Upon discovering an abandoned house they make their way in and relax believing they are safe. They are still jumpy as they don’t know if the previous occupants are alive and whether they might return. The characters get their bearings and discuss recent events. They all settle down and Nina falls asleep first as she feels safe in the knowledge that the predator can’t get to her.
In the final scenes the characters are awoken by the entity outside and the sound of heavy footsteps inside the building. Jack on the spur of the moment decides to cause a distraction so the girls can escape. Is this a dream or just a horrible nightmare?
“Life’s path is always changing, be prepared to make sacrifices.”
